Elites in the open world can drop runes, while Helltides, World Bosses, and Kurast Undercity runs give you more reasons to keep looking. They come in Magic, Rare, and Legendary tiers, so don't expect every drop to suit your build. Most won't. When checking D4 items for useful socket layouts, set aside helmets, chest armour, pants, and two-handed weapons with room for two runes. That small bit of planning saves a trip to the Jeweler later, especially once your stash starts filling with duplicates. Put Spare Runes to Work Duplicates aren't dead weight. Take three copies of the same rune to the Jeweler and turn them into a different rune selected at random. If the three originals sit below Legendary quality, the new result may rise into the next rarity tier. It won't always give you what you wanted, and that's part of the loop. Keep the pieces used by your current setup, then recycle the rest in sensible batches. Before spending anything, I'd run through a quick check. Keep runes required by your active Runewords. Save promising options for another character or build. Use matching leftovers for crafting attempts. How a Runeword Actually Fires A complete Runeword needs one Rune of Ritual and one Rune of Invocation in the same two-socket item. Think of the Ritual rune as the earn side of the deal. It watches for a particular action, such as casting certain skill types, then awards Offering when that condition is met. The Invocation rune handles the spend side. Once you've built enough Offering, it consumes the required amount and activates its listed effect. That effect might improve your stats, add protection, or call on a skill normally tied to another class. You'll quickly notice that reliable activation matters more than an impressive effect that rarely fits your usual rotation. A Clear Moni and Que Example Moni and Que make the whole system easy to picture. Moni is a Magic Ritual rune that grants 100 Offering after you cast two Mobility or Macabre skills. Que is a Rare Invocation rune needing 300 Offering, so Moni's condition must occur three times before Que activates Earthen Bulwark. You then receive the Druid skill's defensive barrier without playing a Druid. It's a practical pairing for builds that already press those skill categories often. While comparing upgrades through D4 items buy options, remember that sockets alone aren't the goal. Match the trigger to actions you naturally perform, test the timing in real fights, and adjust when the effect feels too slow. 0 Cytuj
